These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of chessbrains.algologylabs.com (the "Website") and to the videos, images and text published by The Chess Brains on YouTube, Instagram, X and other platforms (the "Content"). The Chess Brains is operated by Algology Labs, India ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Website or the Content, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. Our content

The Chess Brains publishes chess puzzles, chess news, game breakdowns and chess facts for entertainment and general education. We work to keep the Content accurate, but chess news, ratings and results change quickly and we cannot guarantee that every detail is complete, current or error-free. Where we report news, we credit our sources.

2. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the Content, our logo, the name "The Chess Brains", the Website design and our original graphics, scripts and voice-overs belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law.

Chess moves, game scores and positions themselves are facts and are not owned by anyone. Third-party photos, clips and other material in our Content are used with permission, under their licence (for example Creative Commons, credited in the video description), or as fair dealing / fair use for news reporting, commentary and education.

3. What you may do

• Watch, like, comment on and share our Content using the platforms' own share features.
• Embed our videos using the platforms' official embed tools.
• Use puzzles and positions from our videos for personal study, teaching and non-commercial chess club activities, with credit to The Chess Brains.

4. What you may not do

• Download and re-upload our videos, or substantial parts of them, as your own or on other channels.
• Use our name, logo or Content in a way that suggests we endorse you or your product.
• Use the Content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Website or its servers.

5. Comments and community conduct

Comments and messages you post on our Channels are governed by the rules of the platform you post on. We may hide, delete or report comments that are abusive, hateful, spam, misleading or off-topic, and we may block accounts that repeatedly break these rules. By posting a comment, you confirm that you have the right to post it.

6. Third-party platforms and links

Our Content is hosted on third-party platforms, and the Website links to them. Your use of YouTube, Instagram, X and other services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, including the YouTube Terms of Service. We are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of third-party sites.

7. Sponsorships and affiliate links

Some Content may include sponsorships or affiliate links. We will mark sponsored Content clearly. Any purchase you make from a third party is between you and that third party.

8. No warranty

The Website and Content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the Website will always be available or free of errors.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the Website or Content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Copyright concerns

If you believe something in our Content infringes your rights, email us at the address below with a link to the Content, a description of your work and your contact details. We will review it promptly and remove or credit material where appropriate. You can also use the reporting tools of the platform concerned.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page, and the date at the top shows when they were last updated. Continuing to use the Website or Content after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of India, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
